ENGLISH: This weekend saw the Cardigan Bay Seafood Festival in Aberaeron. It was great to go down and see the number of people interested in the various food stalls (not all of which were seafood) and the celebrity chefs that were there. Last year’s edition had over 7000 people, and it was good to see that event well attended again this year. The seafood industry in Wales is relatively unknown compared to other regions, particularly Cornwall and Brittany, but there are numerous examples of successful companies working in the industry and Aberaeron seemed to be a suitable location, given its association with the sea and fine food.
I sampled some seafood and chorizo paella and a variety of flavoured brownies. It was also good to discover some new companies that hadn’t previously come to my attention – some new companies to add to my SME database.
Some photos I took of the event are shown below.
CYMRAEG: Y penwythnos hwn es i lawr i Gŵyl Bwyd Môr Bae Ceredigion yn Aberaeron. Roedd yn wych i fynd i lawr i weld nifer y bobl â diddordeb yn y stondinau bwyd gwahanol (nid pob un ohonynt yn fwyd môr) a chogyddion enwog a oedd yno. Roedd dros 7000 o bobl wedi mynychu’r ŵyl y llynedd, ac roedd yn dda gweld y digwyddiad hwnnw'n boblogaidd unwaith eto eleni. Mae'r diwydiant bwyd môr yng Nghymru yn gymharol ddieithr o'i gymharu â rhanbarthau eraill, yn enwedig Cernyw a Llydaw, ond ceir nifer o enghreifftiau o gwmnïau llwyddiannus yn gweithio yn y diwydiant ac roedd Aberaeron yn lleoliad addas i’r Ŵyl, wrth ystyried ei berthynas gyda'r môr a bwyd o safon uchel.
Wnes i samplu paella bwyd môr a chorizo ac amrywiaeth o frownis â blas gwahanol. Roedd hefyd yn dda i ddarganfod rhai cwmnïau newydd doedd ddim wedi dod i'm sylw o’r blaen - rhai cwmnïau newydd i ychwanegu at fy nghronfa ddata o fusnesau bach a chanolig.
Dangosir rhai lluniau cymerais isod.
